How it works
Four steps from “just looking” to your first check.
No mystery, no bait-and-switch. Here’s exactly what happens after you tap apply.
Apply
Answer a few quick questions so we know if it’s a fit — both ways. No résumé.
Quick screen call
A real person, straight answers. You ask us anything, we make sure you’re cut out for it.
Get trained
Paired with a closer. Learn the pitch, the product, and the doors before you’re on your own.
Hit the doors
Your first blitz or local route — and your first weekly check once you’re producing.
Why Velocity One
Most D2D companies hand you a vest. We build closers.
The difference between reps who quit in week two and reps who out-earn their friends isn’t talent — it’s training and a team that’s actually in it with you.
Real training, not a vest
Daily coaching, objection drills, and ride-alongs with closers. You learn a pitch that works at the door before you’re out there alone.
$200+ per sale, no cap
Top reps close more than one a day. The math is in your hands, not a manager’s. There’s no ceiling on what you earn.
Built by an operator
This isn’t a faceless recruiting funnel. The owner still runs doors and trains reps — so the system is built by someone who lives it.
Travel’s on us
Flights, lodging, and a rental car covered on blitz trips. You apply from anywhere. We send you where the fiber is.
Weekly pay
Once you’re producing, money hits weekly — not “see you in 60 days.” Steady cash while you build.
A path up
Prove it and you run your own team in a new market — and earn an override on every sale your reps make.
The Role
What you’ll actually do.
Knock doors in neighborhoods getting brand-new fiber, show homeowners a faster, better internet option, and sign them up. Simple to explain. Takes grit to master.
- Work assigned neighborhoods where fiber is newly available
- Run a proven pitch we train you on — no cold scripts you have to invent
- Sign up customers on the spot and hand off clean installs
- Hit a daily door count and track your own numbers
Who we’re looking for
Coachable beats experienced.
Most of our best reps started with zero sales experience. Here’s what actually matters:
- You can hear “no” 40 times and knock the 41st door like the first
- You’re competitive and you keep score
- You show up every day and do the work without being chased
- You’d rather be paid for results than for clocking in
The Opportunity
100% commission. No cap. The harder you work, the more you make.
Here’s the honest pay picture. These are commission rates per activated install — not a promise of what you’ll earn. What you make depends entirely on your results.
Your starting rate on a standard 1-Gig sale, paid on every activated install.
Once you’ve proven you can produce, your per-sale rate steps up — same doors, bigger checks.
Run your own team and earn an override on top of every sale your reps make.
Velocity One reps are independent 1099 contractors paid 100% on commission. There is no base salary and no guaranteed income. The figures above are per-sale commission rates, not earnings projections — your actual income depends on your effort, skill, schedule, and market. Individual results vary.
Read this before you apply
This isn’t for everyone. If you need a guaranteed paycheck for showing up, this isn’t it. But if you’re competitive, coachable, and tired of jobs that pay you the same whether you’re great or average — this is the most honest deal you’ll find. The harder you work, the more you make. Full stop.
Proof
We don’t have rep reviews posted yet.
Most recruiting sites put three glowing quotes here and you have no way to check any of them. We’d rather leave the space empty until we have real ones with real names on them. In the meantime, here is what you can verify about us yourself, today, without taking our word for it.
You work for Velocity One. The product is residential fiber internet from established carriers. Which carrier you sell depends on the blitz you are on. We do not list them all on this page because the mix rotates. The fiber is real. The homeowner gets a real install.
The pay is a number, not the word “competitive.” $200 per activated install starting, $215 experienced, $225 at the leadership tier, paid weekly once you’re producing. That’s on the site before you apply, not after a screening call. Run it against your own assumptions rather than ours.
We publish the case against the job. There’s a page here that opens by saying door-to-door isn’t worth it for most people, and another that refuses to rank us above anyone else and instead hands you five questions to use on every company recruiting you — including us. A site trying to trick you would not host either one.
When rep reviews do go up here, they’ll carry a real first name, the market that person works, how long they’ve been on the team, and their written permission to publish it. No stock photos, no invented income figures, no stars nobody gave us. If you’re reading this and that section is still empty, it means we haven’t collected them yet — not that we’re hiding them.

FAQ
Questions, answered straight.
Is this a real job or some scam?
It’s a real 1099 contractor sales role with a real product — fiber internet sold for established carriers through master-dealer relationships. It’s 100% commission, so there’s no base salary, but the training, the team, and the pay are all real. We’d rather you ask hard questions now than wonder later.
Do I need experience?
No — most of our best reps started with zero. What you can’t fake is showing up and being coachable. We teach the pitch, the product, and the doors.
100% commission sounds risky.
It’s the opposite of risky once you can sell — there’s no ceiling on what you earn. And we don’t throw you out cold; you train with a closer first so you’re learning the pitch before you’re on your own.
How fast do I get paid?
Weekly, once you’re producing. Pay is per activated install, so it follows your installs — no two-month wait to see your first check.
Do I have to travel?
The work is on blitz trips. We fly or ship you to wherever we’re selling. Flights, lodging, and a rental car are covered. You don’t have to live next to the fiber.
What does training look like?
You start paired with an experienced closer, learn a proven pitch, do ride-alongs, and get daily coaching and objection drills before you’re running doors on your own.
What’s the catch?
The work is simple but not easy. You’ll knock a lot of doors and hear a lot of no’s. The reps who push through out-earn almost everyone their age. That’s the whole deal.
